about page

you know. i tried to edit the about page again, because i absolutely hate it. but i still can't even finish reading it. (it's quite obvious where i stopped.) and i know my editing really isn't that much better (though i did at least correct some tyops), but i never was very good at overcoming someone else's style.    i also noticed that the about page focuses completely on the points system. certainly this is not the only selling point of sqeez! but, if that's all you have to say about it, then i strongly suggest you put a lot more thought into this explanation of it as well as the implementation of the system.

sqeez is a new spin on social networking. we are striving to build a quality network based on personal expression, quality content, quality content, personalization, and a self-healing society.

we users (or sqeezes/sqeezers) use (or utilize?) points as a form of rating to rate the content on the site. instead of just giving a response to something one of your friends has post, so, in addition to being able to leave comments on your friends' posts, you can also give (award?) them a points for content you enjoy. these points help bump up boost the ratings of whatever you gave it for, gives your friend a little boost on the network both content and users, thus increasing the visibilty of better content (synonym?).

users that gain enough points will gain more power and more exposure for the stuff they post.

so be entertaining, be funny, be witty - be yourself. sqeez wants to know what's inside.

most on the site is organized mostly by rating, freshness and tags. this way it's quick and painless to find entertaining and high quality content based upon what you're looking for.

we support and embrace open standards, free speech and google's "do-no evil" policy. we'll never sell or rent your personal information that you share with us. we try to keep ads as unobtrusive as possible, but we are a business, and as the site grows, so do our bills to keep the site operational.

your privacy is very important, and as such, we offer full control over the content you post to sqeez, and who gets to see what. want to share with only those you've designated your friends? no problem. how about share with the entire world? that's cake, too.
