the point of pointsi hear some people are upset that they don't have points to give out. i know the FAQ isn't terribly enlightening, so i thought i'd offer some insight into the finer points of the points system. 1) you cannot give away points if you don't have any points 2) you must first create content (blogs, media, poll answers) before someone else can give you points 3) a user can only award points to a piece of content once in a 24-hour period, so creating more content (and daily) will help you to accumulate points more quickly 4) i could be wrong about this, but i think you must first receive 25 points before you begin accumulating points (hourly?) to dispense to other users in the future, points will probably be awarded to the newest/funniest/most thoughtful content. for now, however, there's simply not enough content to go around. so it's all getting touched by the point fairy. i doubt there's one piece of centent out there without a point. i'm under the (perhaps mistaken) impression that my points max out if i don't use them, so i hand them out as soon as possible, rather than allowing them to collect and stagnate. i'm doing my part to keep the points circle of life moving! all you have to do is create some (worthwhile) content. quit bitching and get with the program. hell, start bitching in a blog and you'll already be in it. |
